Configuring

Before turning on your theme live, you should set up some of the functions you want to use. Most configurable files are located in ideam/partials/ folder.

I. Various metatags - meta.hbs

This is optional: Open meta.hbs file with your text editor and enter your data in the fields you want to use:

  1. twitter:site Used for Twitter Card identification, the twitter @username of the owner of this card's domain. Read More

  2. twitter:creator Used for Twitter Card identification, the twitter @username of the author of this content. Read More

  3. google-site-verification Used for Google Webmaster Tools identification. Read More
    <meta name="google-site-verification" content="YOUR_CODE_HERE" />

  4. fb:admins Used for Facebook Insights identification. Read More

II. Disqus commenting system

If you want to use Disqus commenting system you will need to configure it by replacing your shortname Disqus ID. Read More

  1. Open default.hbs and post.hbs files with your text editor.
  2. Now find and replace Disqus shortname with your own and save the files. (default is: example)

III. Google Analytics

This is optional: To connect Google Analytics:

  1. Log in to your ghost dashboard.
  2. In Settings -> Labs, enable the code injection interface.
  3. Now go to Settings -> Code Injection and paste your Google Analytics code. Read More

IV. Search page

To activate Search page:

  1. Go to your admin ghost panel and create a new empty post titled Search

  2. Set it as a static page and hit publish.

  3. Now go to Settings -> Navigation and create your link to search page.

V. Subscribe icons

To add your social media links in menu area, open menu.hbs file with your text editor, paste your links in the right place and save the file.

To choose different icons visit Font Awesome Cheatsheet website, pick your icon class name from the list and replace it.


Installing

  1. Copy the unziped ideam folder into your Ghost theme directory ghost/content/themes
  2. Restart Ghost and log in to your dashboard.
  3. In settings under themes select Ideam and save.
  4. Done, your new theme is now up and runnig.
